The official Pokemon GO Blog has posted a lengthy update detailing event details for Pokemon GO Fest Chicago and the Pokemon GO Safari Zone which is taking place in Europe.
First up are new details on what’s going to happen at Pokemon GO Fest Chicago on July 22nd. There will be three phases to the Pokemon GO Fest event, and players around the world could participate during “Challenge Windows” to help increase the chances of rewards.
In Phase 1, during the Challenge Windows, trainers at Grant Park will work together to capture certain types of Pokemon to unlock perks for Pokemon GO players around the world. Each Pokemon type is tied to a different reward. Meanwhile players outside Grant Park will “attempt to catch as many Pokémon as possible” during the Challenge Windows to extend the duration of the perks.
If trainers outside Grant Park catch enough Pokemon, a Mystery Challenge will be unlocked, activating Phase 2. Once Phase 2 is completed by trainers in Grant Park, a Global Reward (Phase 3) will be unlocked for trainers around the world.
Besides the Pokemon GO Fest in Chicago, Pokemon GO Safari Zone events are scheduled to take place at Unibail-Rodamco shopping malls across Europe between August and September. Trainers who visit the Safari Zone will get a chance to catch Pokemon never seen before in Europe and take down powerful Raid Bosses together.
