Video sharing service NicoNico has officially arrived on the Nintendo Switch. The app can now be downloaded on the Japanese Nintendo eShop for free.
You’ll need a Japanese Nintendo Account linked to the Nintendo Switch to access the Japanese eShop. Click here for instructions on setting up a new Nintendo Account (in case you’ve forgotten) and linking it to your Switch. Make sure you’ve set the account’s country to “Japan”.
The NicoNico app doesn’t take up too much space, as it only requires 32MB to get up and go. It can be used in all three modes of the Nintendo Switch – TV Mode, Handheld Mode, and Tabletop Mode, so you can be watching those silly cat videos anywhere and anytime. The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller is also supported.
The only downside is it only displays text in Japanese, and we’re pretty sure that won’t be changing anytime soon.
