Nintendo Bans Prominent Hacker’s Switch From Going Online

Several Nintendo Switch owners have been affected by what appeared to be a “banwave” from Nintendo last week.

One of the victims of this banwave is none other than Shiny Quagsire, a prominent member of the Nintendo Switch homebrew community.

Shiny Quagsire told followers on Twitter that two of his Nintendo Switch Consoles were banned. Users banned by Nintendo encounter error code 2124-4007 when trying to access online services:

Banned consoles are restricted from accessing the Nintendo eShop (so if you have any funds locked up there, you can’t use them), restricted from playing online, and even restricted from creating Nintendo Accounts.

Shiny Quagsire has reached out to Nintendo on his ban, but was told they couldn’t cancel the ban, due to violations of the End User Licensing Agreement.
