Nintendo, Creatures Inc., and Game Freak have filed a fresh new patent for the names “Pokemon” and “Pikachu” in Japan under the classification of “toys, dolls, entertainment equipment”. While they are not directly related to video games, the trio likely filed the patent to protect its existing line of Pokemon merchandises.
