Like Pokemon Sun And Moon before it, Pokemon Sword And Shield introduce a number of new regional forms for various older Pokemon. Although some of the original versions of these new “Galar form” Pokemon can be obtained via in-game trades, there are quite a few that currently cannot be found anywhere in Pokemon Sword and Shield.
However, Nintendo of Europe recently published the following post on their official Twitter account showing off two of these unobtainable “original form” Pokemon in Pokemon Sword And Shield.
Framed as a sort of “comparison” post, the video shows off Hoenn Zigzagoon and Kantonian Ponyta alongside their Galar form counterparts in Pokemon Camp.
Although it is not clear why Nintendo would choose to use currently unobtainable Pokemon in their marketing materials for Pokemon Sword And Shield, it seems likely that this may be a tease towards Pokemon HOME‘s release, and confirming that you will be able to transfer original forms of Galaraian Pokemon through that service.
