Last month, Nintendo announced their intent to stop accepting repair requests for the original Nintendo 3DS and 3DS XL in Japan, due to having difficulty securing spare parts for the now retired console.
Over on their official Twitter account, Nintendo has announced that their supply of spare parts for the two consoles in Japan has run out, and they will no longer be accepting repair requests for the console as of March 8th 2021.
Nintendo previously announced in February that they would be accepting repair requests for the console up until March 31st this year, and it seems their supply of spare parts ran out much faster than they had anticipated.
That said, the company will reportedly continue to accept repair requests for the 2DS and New 3DS consoles, which are comparatively newer.
