NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) have been a hot topic of interest in recent months, with many videogame publishers looking to find ways to take advantage of the trend themselves, to mixed reception from the gaming community.
During their latest investor Q&A session, Nintendo was asked about what they thought of NFTs as well as a related concept called the Metaverse. For those who may not be aware, the Metaverse refers to a type of virtual world where participants would be able to buy, sell and “own” digital items which exist in the space, as well as interact with other participants from all over the world.
Their response has since been translated by Analyst David Gibson, revealing that although the company is “interested” in the concepts, primarily that of the Metaverse. However, it seems they are still unsure about “what joy” they could provide in that area, presumably meaning that they have not made any solid plans to move into the space as of yet.
