Nintendo Co., Ltd have applied for a new “Information Processing” patent in Japan which could make its way into the company’s future game projects.
The patent is for what appears to be a new type of information processor that can handle complex collision determination for various in-game objects and environments. Within the patent are several examples of featuring Super Mario Maker 2, illustrating how the processor would deal with slopes and acute angles.

While the patent mainly features Mario Maker examples, its highly possible this processor will be used in development of other Nintendo games, although this is just speculation.
