Taiwanese paper DigiTimes reports Nintendo has increased their monthly orders for the Nintendo Switch to 2 million a month due to surging demand, according to sources from the upstream supply chain.
At 2 million consoles a month, Nintendo should be able to comfortably meet their target of shipping 20 million units in 2017.
The same sources also reconfirmed that the reason behind the Nintendo Switch shortages are due to lack of key components such as DRAM, rather than defective components or other production issues.
As of the end of June 2017, Nintendo has sold 4.7 million Nintendo Switch consoles worldwide.
