Nintendo Switch is popular but according to Daniel Ives of analytic firm GBH Insights, it is currently 15 million sales popular.
Ives who compiled the data for USA Today also compared the Nintendo Switch with other electronic devices such as the Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy smartphones and in the end, the Nintendo Switch manage to hold out top five positions as this year’s 5th most popular electronic device, behind the Apple Watch, Amazon Echo Dot, Samsung Galaxy S8/Note 8 and iPhones.
While it is all nice figures for the Nintendo Switch, we should all take the 15 million with a bit of scepticism as well. According to Nintendo themselves, they had only crossed the 10 million mark back on December 10th, meaning if GBH Insights data were correct, Nintendo would have sold 5 million Switch Consoles in 3 weeks, an unlikely data in all honesty. To put things in perspective as well, the Wii U sold only 13.6 million in its lifetime.
Still, it is always good to know that the Nintendo Switch is bringing Nintendo Consoles back to popularity. You can read the full article from USA Today here.
