Nintendo Now Worth 7 Trillion Yen On The Stock Market

A bump in Nintendo’s share price has led to an increase in its market capitalization today.

Statistics from Nikkei show that as of February 27, 2018 (Tokyo Time), Nintendo has a market value of 7,002,698,670,000 yen (7 trillion yen), translating into roughly USD65 billion. This makes Nintendo the 8th largest company in Japan by market capitalization (total dollar value of all outstanding shares). Nintendo’s current share price is 49,430 yen (USD460).

Sony follows close behind at 6.8 trillion yen, making it the 10th largest company by market capitalization. Nintendo overtook Sony in market capitalization last year, thanks to the success of Nintendo Switch.
