The Nintendo Official Store on Shopee in the Philippines, operated by Nintendo distributor VST ECS Phils Inc, has started taking pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 games and accessories. However, it seems that prices are out of control, despite being an designated by Nintendo as an official store.
According to the official store’s page on Shopee (as of June 2, 2025 PT), Mario Kart World costs a whopping USD118, while accessories like the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller are going for USD124. Comparing prices before 12% sales tax, that’s 31.6% higher than the US SRP for Mario Kart World, and 30.6% higher for the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller.
It is unclear why the official store is charging extraordinarily high prices, considering that Nintendo Switch hardware, games and accessories are going for much more reasonable prices. For example, Mario & Luigi Brothership has a list price of USD59.26 after tax and before discounts, slightly lower than the USD59.99 pre-tax SRP in the US.
Here’s a full breakdown on the prices as of June 2, 2025 PT:
Nintendo Switch 2 games
Nintendo Switch 2 accessories
As we’ve previously reported earlier, the standalone Nintendo Switch 2 on the official Nintendo store in the Philippines is 14% higher than the suggested retail price in the US. It is unclear why the games and accessories are being marked up significantly higher than the console.
