Nintendo Once Had Plans For Alternate Joy-Con Designs, Including A Wider Version

Ever wished that your Joy-Con controllers were wider or more portable than they currently are? Well, it looks like Nintendo once considered such options as well!

A set of 2016 patents unearthed by LetsGoDigital reveal other Joy-Con layouts that Nintendo had explored during the Switch’s development. These other layouts were as follows:

These are certainly bizarre alternatives to the official Joy-Cons that we have today. In fact, they’re so bizarre that LetsGoDigital decided to create some mock-ups of what they may have looked like in real life! Check them out below:
