Nintendo has filed for a new patent that many believe is related to the Switch 2.
The patent is for a product that appears to be a magnetic smartphone holder. As seen in the example images, it has a familiar looking clip-design that will allow users to clip it onto an object, and then attach a device onto the other end. The attached device can rotate magnetically around the connection point. The images bear a resemblance to an existing clip accessory that is being used for the Pokemon GO+, possibly suggesting that Nintendo has been using it for a while, but only recently got around to patenting it.
With the Switch 2 releasing later t his year, some have speculating that this attachment could have applications for the new console. One example could be attaching a smartphone to the top of the Switch 2 so that it can better emulate DS and 3DS games.
