Earlier this week, fans got ahold of a promotional image from retailer Walmart that seemingly leaked upcoming games for the Switch Online games catalogue.
In a statement issued to IGN, Nintendo denounced the image saying that it “incorrectly included” games that are “not planned for release at this time”. The image has since been removed from Walmart’s site.
“We recently provided a retailer with an image of Nintendo GameCube – Nintendo Classics titles that incorrectly included games that are not planned for release at this time. The image has been removed, and we apologize for any confusion.”
Taken at face value, we can probably conclude that neither of the two leaked games (i.e. Pikmin 2, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes) are coming to the service anytime soon, otherwise there would be no need to make such an explicit retraction. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
