Several YouTubers have conducted battery life tests for a variety of Nintendo Switch 2 games, revealing some interesting results.
A battery life test of Fortnite (Nintendo Switch 2 version) running on the Switch 2 at medium brightness, medium volume, and wireless internet turned on revealed that the system lasted up to 2 hours and 13 minutes. That’s shorter than how Fortnite performs on all of the systems in the Nintendo Switch family, with the first generation Nintendo Switch lasting 2 hours and 31 minutes, and the Nintendo Switch OLED model lasting 5 hours and 24 minutes.
Another test looked at how the Switch 2 performed when Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition and Mario Kart World were running at 80% brightness with wireless internet turned on. Cyberpunk 2077 (in 30 FPS quality mode) lasted 2 hours and 1 minute, while Mario Kart World lasted 2 hours and 5 minutes. It’s interesting that Mario Kart World didn’t last longer than Cyberpunk 2077, despite being a less visually demanding game.
What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
UPDATE: Mario Kart World lasted 2 hours and 47 minutes in a test at medium brightness, medium volume, and wireless internet enabled. Lowering brightness and volume can help to extend the system’s battery life.
