It appears that WWE 2K25 is a code-in-box release on Nintendo Switch 2, according to official marketing materials.
The packaging states that a “full game download” is included in the box and that a “GAME CARD IS NOT INCLUDED!” This confirms that a download code for the game, redeemable on the Nintendo eShop, is only included in the packaging.
It’s believed that this is the first time a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive game (Nintendo Switch 2 Editions are not counted as Nintendo Switch 2 exclusives) is being released in a code-in-box format on Nintendo Switch 2, as most games being put out by publishers are being released as Game-Key Cards, which have been a source of controversy since their reveal in April 2025.
