The Nintendo Switch 2 official website has detailed some requirements on what users have to do before they can use GameChat, the voice chat service on Nintendo Switch 2.
Besides having to be a Nintendo Switch Online member, users must complete text message / SMS authentication on their smartphone before they are allowed to use the service, and it has to be linked to the Nintendo Account. Nintendo says this is a “security measure”.
In addition, users under 16 must get approval from a parent or guardian via the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls smartphone app. The parent or guardian must approve the person who the child wishes to use GameChat with through the smartphone app.
