Nintendo Switch Online Famicom App Cannot Be Downloaded In Certain Countries

We have received a piece of news about the Nintendo Switch Online Famicom app that’s available to all Nintendo Switch Online members in Japan.

According to reports, the Famicom app could not be downloaded on the Japanese eShop by users living in certain countries outside Japan. An error message stating that the Nintendo eShop is only available for users living in Japan will appear when trying to download the app.

It seems that not everybody is affected by this region block. We speculate Nintendo wants to prevent users from gaining access to additional Famicom games. Perhaps the same might be happening in Japan, except with the NES app.

While some users living in North America and Europe have reported issues, others have managed to download just fine. A workaround to downloading the app is by using a VPN on your PC/smartphone to access this page and start the download.
