Some Nintendo Switch Retail Games Will Require A Memory Card Due To File Size

Nintendo of America recently announced a pair of licensed memory cards for Nintendo Switch. Besides the announcement, the company added that certain Nintendo Switch games in the future may require users to have a microSD card inside their Switch due to their large file sizes.

One such game that will have this requirement is NBA 2K18. Games like NBA 2K18 which require additional installation of data will have a message indicating that an “Internet download and microSD card” is required on the front and back of the physical release.

Nintendo also added games which require additional installation will still be partially playable even if users don’t download the rest of the content.
