No Cross-Play Support For Dragon Ball: The Breakers Planned “At The Moment”

A few months back, Bandai Namco announced Dragon Ball: The Breakers an asymmetrical multiplayer game that puts ordinary survivors against a powerful “raider” character from the series.

In an interview published by Siliconera, Producer Ryosuke Hara sat down to share various tidbits behind the game’s development, as well as give players a better idea of what they can expect from the game. Among the more interesting reveals is that game is not planned to support cross-play “at the moment”, as well as that there will be some form of save data link with fellow Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.

How will Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2’s story, assets, and gameplay feature in and influence Dragon Ball: The Breakers?

Hara: Dragon Ball: The Breakers and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 shares the same universe, so many may realize that there are links between these two titles in terms of background story and assets. We cannot inform in detail at the moment but there will be save data link among these two titles so please wait for more details in the future.

Will Dragon Ball: The Breakers support cross-platform play and cross-save? If not, is that a feature you might consider in the future?

Hara: There is no plan to support cross-platform and cross-save at the moment.

What kind of support do you expect to offer for Dragon Ball: The Breakers and how do you expect the roadmap for it might like look? How often could people see new characters?

Hara: It’s a little early to talk about the upcoming plans at the moment. Please stay tuned for more updates!

Dragon Ball: The Breakers launches sometime in 2022 for Switch.
