Online Interest For The Switch Surges In Southeast Asia, Searches Up By 245%

E-commerce aggregator iPrice Group has shared some interesting data about the current most popular consoles for gamers in Southeast Asia.

The gauge consumer interests in Southeast Asia, iPrice Group analyzed 1.5 million searches on online shopping websites across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, and Hong Kong. This data was mainly from the March/April period, when many of these countries are in the middle of lockdowns due to the ongoing Coronavirus situation.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Nintendo Switch proved to be the most searched console in 5 out of the 7 countries, losing out to the PS4 only in Indonesia and Vietnam. Furthermore, during this March/April period, searches for the Switch increased by over 245%, almost double the increase for the PS4 (135%).
