Jazwares has shared more details about the upcoming re-release of the Pikachu and Gengar Squishmallows plushies which were launched last year.
Speaking to Kotaku, a representative from Jazwares confirmed that the two plushies would be coming to Walmart stores in North America “roughly” in February 2023. This clarification came shortly after several Walmart stores jumped the gun and started stocking the plushies early. While some were able to get their hands on the toys, others were denied at the register and told the plushies were “recalled”.
According to the Jazwares representative, this move is simply to prevent more copies of the Squishmallows from being sold ahead of the scheduled release date.
“Squishmallows x Pokémon are not being recalled, they simply set a bit too early. Fans can expect to see them roll out soon for purchase. This happens sometimes — stock goes out on the floor a bit early and systems have not yet caught up.”
Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
