Earlier this year, PlatinumGames opened a special ‘Platinum 4’ website that teased 4 major announcements. The first was that The Wonderful 101 Remastered would be heading to modern systems, while the second and third announcements confirmed a new IP and PlatinumGames’ Tokyo office respectively. Well, PlatinumGames’ revealed its final big announcement today – and it might not be the big blowout fans were hoping for.
As it turns out, PlatinumGames were really just hiding an elaborate April Fools’ Day prank! The ‘announcement’ turned out to be for a non-existent followup to the Cresta shooter series – titled ‘Sol Cresta’. The studio even released a really professional trailer to reveal the fake game, complete with mock-up models for the player’s ships!
