PlatinumGames Removes Project G.G., Star Fox Zero, And Other Titles From Official Website
PlatinumGames has removed several existing and in-development games from its official website.
The number of games listed on the “works” page on PlatinumGames’ website has been cut down to 9 from the previous 22. This includes Hideki Kamiya’s in-development superhero game Project G.G., Star Fox Zero, The Legend of Korra, and more.
Project G.G. was slated to be the third “superhero” title follow-up to Viewtiful Joe and The Wonderful 101, but it is probably safe to say that it and any other in-development projects removed from the page will no longer see release.
At the time of this writing, no official explanation for the games’ removals have been given. However, its possible that it is related to the recent exodus of talent from Platinum Games, including Hideki Kamiya.
Over on social media, former PlatinumGames producer JP Kellams had some harsh words for the company’s actions, stating he felt “deeply insulted” by it.
“Saw this on ResetEra, and I have no idea why they did it, but PlatinumGames erasing its history on its website is extremely regrettable. I wonder if the pulled the carpet tiles out of the lobby, too. As someone proud of working on those games, I feel deeply insulted by this.”
