A player has made an interesting observation of Mario Kart World’s course map.
They found that course placements on the map are symmetric in nature, this means that the distances between two courses on the horizontal axis are roughly equal to each other. Here’s how the map looks like when accounting for this:
Besides being symmetrical in nature, it seems that the courses were deliberately placed on the opposite ends of each other as they are similar and different to each other in some ways.
For example, Airship Fortress and Sky High Sundae are courses that take place high up in the sky, but one has a fire theme while the other has an ice theme. Meanwhile, Crown City and Faraway Oasis have contrasting themes – one reflecting urbanization by mankind, and the other reflecting nature. Similar observations can be made for the other courses.
