[UPDATE]: As of Animal Crossing: New Horizons patch 1.1.3., this bug has been fixed. More information can be found here.
After dealing with the almost game-breaking bugged land plot glitch, it seems the developers of Animal Crossing: New Horizons will have their hands full dealing with another progress-stopping bug.
Recently, several players have been reporting a bug related to balloons in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. For those who are not aware, Animal Crossing has a system where balloons carrying presents occasionally float by above the player, which they can shoot down with a slingshot for all sorts of goodies.
According to the reports, some players have found that after shooting down around 300 balloons for the Nook Miles achievement, balloons just stop spawning altogether on their island. That said, it seems not every player who has the achievement is encountering this bug, leading to much speculation and confusion over what could be causing it.
As shooting down balloons is quite important for completing the ongoing Bunny Day Event (which ends on April 14th), we can only hope that Nintendo puts out a patch for this bug soon.
