Two months from now, the whole world will be celebrating Christmas. Two weeks from now, Pokemon Centers in Japan will begin celebrating Christmas with their brand new lineup of Christmas themed merchandise this year.
Seasonal Pokemon Center merchandise (Easter, Halloween, Christmas) are released at least a month before the actual celebration in Japan, so no surprise this tradition is being repeated again this year. Another tradition that the Pokemon Center practices is releasing two different lineups of Christmas themed merchandise (a “standard” theme and a “snow” theme) at the same time, and we’re seeing this happen again this year.
Without further ado let’s take a look at the artwork first for this year’s Pokemon Center Christmas themes.
As you can probably tell by now this year’s Christmas lineup will heavily feature Pikachu, Rockruff, and Alola Vulpix.
As for the snow lineup, it’s that Snow Pikachu you see there and this piece of artwork itself.
Every year the Christmas Pikachu plush is guaranteed to sell out the fastest. This year’s Pikachu plush is wearing a costume that resembles a Christmas tree.
Who’s dressing up as santa? Rockruff!
Alola Vulpix is wearing an elf (?)/Christmas themed costume.
Besides the usual plushies, expect to find other merchandise such as this mug.
And now for a quick look at the Snow themed merchandise. Here’s Snow Pikachu, which is how Pikachu is supposed to look like when constructed out of snow!
The Snow theme merchandise isn’t very popular for its plushies, but rather other things such as this sketchbook.
The artwork on the tote bag is pretty cool too!
Pokemon Center’s Standard and Snow Theme Christmas merchandise will be released on November 3, 2017 (Friday) at Pokemon Centers, Pokemon Stores, and Amazon Japan. As usual we’ll post an update on the site once it’s available on Amazon Japan.
