Pokemon Detective Pikachu Opens No. 1 At The Box Office In China

Pokemon Detective Pikachu, the first live action Pokemon movie, has performed extremely well at the box office in mainland China.

According to a report by Kiji, Pokemon Detective Pikachu opened No. 1 at the box office in China, pulling in RMB75,160,000 (USD11 million) in revenue. The movie beaten Avengers Endgame (No. 2) and Capernaum (No. 3) the day it opened at the box office.

Interestingly enough, Pokemon Detective Pikachu’s performance is considered better in China than Japan, as the movie debuted No. 3 at the box office in Japan.
