During the first Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Meet and Greet in Tokyo, Game Freak director Junichi Masuda told the crowd to purchase a Nintendo Switch if they have not done so.
When a member of the audience asked if there are any plans to release a new Pokemon game, Masuda answered “There is, but…” and continued “Who owns a Nintendo Switch? If you don’t have it, please buy one.”
Nintendo is planning to release a new Pokemon RPG for Nintendo Switch in 2018 or later. Details about the game are scarce at this point, but rumors in the last few weeks seem to indicate that an announcement is on the way.
