Pokémon GO Fest Dortmund will give thousands of Trainers around the world an opportunity to explore this unique city, get exercise in the real world, meet and befriend fellow Trainers and more importantly, catch Pokémon together.

Trainers attending Pokémon GO Fest Dortmund will be able to experience an action-packed day of encountering and catching Pokémon with others across four unique Pokémon GO-themed habitats taking shape in the real world as physical installations across the park. A variety of in-game activities and real-world experiences will be available for players to participate in during the event including photo opportunities, group photos, a Pikachu costume character meet and greet, and much more.

Thomas Westphal, CEO of Dortmund’s economic development agency added: “We are delighted to have been selected for the second time in a row as the Pokémon GO destination to be in Europe during this summer. After last year’s success, we are very much looking forward to continuing our partnership with Niantic and to host thousands of people from all over the world in Westfalenpark and the city of Dortmund again.”

Throughout Pokémon GO Fest Dortmund, Trainers who are not in attendance will still be able to participate in Pokémon GO special challenges to work towards a global goal of unlocking rewards for all Trainers around the world. Details for the global challenges during Pokémon GO Fest Dortmund will be revealed ahead of the event.
