Famitsu has published the Japanese sales ranking for the period between December 30, 2019 and January 12, 2020.
Pokemon Sword and Shield were the bestselling games in Japan for the first 2 weeks of 2020. After selling 268,000 copies in 2 weeks, lifetime sales have reached 3.25 million copies in Japan. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe saw a boost as well – it reached second place in the charts with 66,295 copies sold. Luigi’s Mansion 3 came in third with 64,073 copies.
For the hardware side of things, Nintendo Switch sales were 252,776 units, and Nintendo Switch Lite sales were 148,352 units.
