Pokemon dataminer Kaphotics have brought us more information about Pokemon Sword and Shield today.
According to the dataminer, the Starter Pokemon (Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble) and Cover Legendaries (Zacian and Zamazenta) are all shiny locked in Pokemon Sword and Shield. This means all five Pokemon’s models will never show up as shiny in the typical encounters with them – although breeding shiny versions could still be possible. Likewise, event distributions of their shiny variants could also happen in the future.
In addition, we now know the hidden abilities for all three starters.
Starter hidden abilities:
Grass – Grassy Surge
Water – Sniper
Fire – Libero (same effect as Protean)
