Pokemon Was The Most Wide-Reaching Entertainment Brand Of 2024 In Japan

Pokemon is one of the world’s most popular franchises, particularly in its home country of Japan.

According to a study published by GEM Partners, Pokemon was the most wide-reaching entertainment brand in Japan for 2024. The used data from around 100,000 Japanese residents aged 15-69, measuring reach using “reach points”, a value representing the number of people who come into contact with a brand each day through media such as apps, games, music, videos, and manga.

Of the brands examined, Pokemon had the highest reach factor at 65,578 points, mostly through mobile apps and console games. In second place was Disney’s Tsum Tsum with 60,132 points, followed by One Piece in third place with 42,184 points. Other videogame brands on the list include Monster Strike (ranked 9th) Dragon Quest (10th) and Genshin Impact (11th).
