Wonder what the folks behind the Pokemon franchise are currently working on behind-the-scenes? Thanks to some new listings that have emerged online, we might now have our first peek at what’s in store this year!
Nintendo, Creatures Inc., and Game Freak, the owners of the Pokemon brand, have registered new trademarks for “Pokemon Wonder” and “Fusion Arts” (フュージョンアーツ) in Japan. According to both trademarks, they were just registered today (19 January 2021).
Before you get too excited, however, it should be noted that the “Pokemon Wonder” trademark mainly applies to “Food, Beverage, Education, Food/Accommodation” – so it sounds like it could be some sort of edible product. Meanwhile, the “Fusion Arts” trademark applies to “Games, toys and playthings”, which the Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG) also falls under.
We’ll just have to wait and see if these materialize into anything significant in the future. Stay tuned!
