Last year, Nintendo acquired a visual content company called “Dynamo Pictures”, with plans to use it for new video projects under the name “Nintendo Pictures”.
In an interesting turn of events, this acquisition has led to the name “Nintendo Pictures” appearing on animation projects that have nothing to do with Nintendo games. Dynamo Pictures worked on a number of other projects before being acquired, and the acquisition means their work will be credited as “Nintendo Pictures” moving forward.
Some of these projects include Hirogaru Sky! Pretty Cure, the latest installment of the long-running magical girl franchise, as well as the anime adaptation of the mobile game Ensemble Stars.
