Random: The Adventures Of Elliot’s Latest Patch Lets Players Silence Talking Fairy Companion

Last month, Square Enix released The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, a HD-2D top-down adventure game that takes heavy inspiration from The Legend Of Zelda and the Mana series.

One of the ways the game resemble Zelda is the presence of a talking fairy companion named Faie, who chimes in with quips and advice during the player’s adventure. Much like Zelda’s most infamous talking fairy Navi, many players found Faie grating to listen to, with many calling for an option to mute her dialogue ever since the original demo. However, the developers did not seem to share the players’ opinion about Faie, only including options to reduce her dialogue slightly in the full release.

Now, in the latest patch for The Adventures of Elliot, the dev team has finally relented and included an option to turn off her voice entirely, along with a few other adjustments.

  • Adds an option to turn off support character voice
  • Adjusts tutorial behavior
  • Minor bug fixes

The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the game where Zelda’s talking fairy Navi originated, is due to receive a remake very soon. One wonders whether Nintendo might include similar options after seeing the response to Faie when the time comes.
