Random: The Super Mario Oreo Cookies Have Been Digitally Preserved As 3D Scans

Earlier this year, Nintendo announced and released a collaboration with Oreo – introducing new Mario-themed Oreo cookies to store shelves. While this yummy promotion will eventually fade away into obscurity, it looks like one fan has decided to (sort-of) preserve them for future generations to come!

As you can see below, self-professed ‘video game enthusiast and archivist’ @MrTalida took up the intriguing task of converting these unique Oreo cookies into 3D scans. In order to perform this 3D scan however, the cookies had to be spray-painted white to prepare them for the process:

Thanks to MrTalida’s efforts, these 3D models of the Oreo cookies are now immortalized on the Internet Archive over here.
