Rare ‘Pikachu Illustrator’ TCG Card Going Up For Auction, Could Possibly Bring In Over $100K

The world of Pokemon TCG collecting is about to rake in the big bucks, once again.

On 23 October 2019, Weiss Auctions will be opening bids for a “Pikachu Illustrator” promo card in Mint 9 condition. The card is pretty rare stuff, as it was an exclusive prize for the winners of the 1998 CoroCoro Comic Illustration contest in Japan.

As such, Weiss Auctions is expecting bids for the collector’s item to exceed an incredible $100,000! It’s definitely quite the asking price for a single card, especially since we’ve only seen larger card collections go for that much in the past.

What do you think? Is this way too much for a glorified piece of cardboard, or would it be worth every penny? Feel free to share your thoughts below!
