Reggie Fils-Aime Responds To Recent Claims That Video Games Cause Mass Shootings

Recently, US president Donald Trump blamed the events of 2 recent mass shootings on video games with him commenting “We must stop the glorification of violence in our society, this includes the gruesome and grisly video games that are now commonplace”.

This caused many people across the internet to become furious as it’s been proven in the past that video games have no link to acts of gun violence with even retired president of Nintendo Of America Reggie Fils-Aime commenting on this.

Check out what he said below:

When the ill-informed are being critical of the gaming industry and community, this is a very powerful story. The facts are that countries with high per capita gaming revenue have fewer gun-shooting deaths. Except the US, where 4% of the population own 43% of the guns.

Facts are facts.

This was in response to a story that Geoff Keighley (presenter of The Game Awards) shared that showed how video games have a positive impact on people’s lives.
