Reggie: Nintendo Switch Handheld Mode Does Not Compete With 3DS

Some Nintendo fans have been calling for the company to discontinue the 3DS ever since the Nintendo Switch launched in March 2017.

Nintendo, however, has never listened to them and pledged to support the Nintendo 3DS for the foreseeable future. This was reaffirmed by Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime in a Hollywood Reporter interview.

Reggie said in this interview that he believes the Nintendo Switch does not compete with the Nintendo 3DS in any way, as the 3DS is a great entry-level device for children to become familiar with Nintendo games.

He also revealed that Nintendo does not discriminate or prefer any mode of the Switch, whether it’s TV mode, Tabletop Mode, or Handheld Mode. It’s all up to the user’s preference.
