Earlier this month, the Australian retailer Mighty Ape had put up mysterious pre-order listings for physical versions of Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 on Switch – complete with cover artwork. Well, we have some very unfortunate news today for physical collectors hoping to obtain these physical copies.
Mighty Ape has since responded to customers on the two listings and clarified that the releases will unfortunately not be happening. According to the store, a supplier has confirmed that the two games will remain digital-only for now.
Since then, Mighty Ape has deactivated the two listings and refunded folks who pre-ordered the games accordingly.
Sadly, it looks like Switch fans will just have to settle for getting both games as printed codes in a box for now. Hopefully, Capcom will one day see the demand for physical versions of these games and give collectors what they want in the future.
