Rumor: 3 Listings Of Witcher For Nintendo Switch Appear Online
Is the third time the charm?
Following up on a previous report about the game coming to Switch, a ResetEra user by the name of “Jim_Cacher” has supposedly found images that show that TheWitcher 3: Game Of The Year Edition is headed to Nintendo Switch.
According to the user’s source, the game will be released on Nintendo’s platform this September. Here’s the translated text from the below image :
“[Breaking! Witcher 3 GOTY edition is coming to Switch in September.] According to a reliable source from distributor, Witcher 3 GOTY edition is coming to Switch in September. Chinese localization exclusive to Asia version.”
The Chinese online shopping website Taobao.com, among others, are supposedly already listing the Nintendo Switch version of the game. This includes box art is on display as well:
There is also speculation that this could be a cloud version. Cloud based games for the Switch such as Resident Evil 7 have been seen in Japan and allow the Switch to run games that would normally be too powerful for it.
Nintendo has announced that new hardware is not on the table so unless there are any changes to that announcement, it seems that the game would need to be played while connected to the internet.
