An industry insider on ResetEra has claimed that a new 2D Metroid game is currently in the early stages of development.
The insider, who is called mocolostrocolos, says that the game is currently unannounced and wouldn’t tell which studio is currently working on it. If you’re wondering why mocolostrocolos has more credibility than other people, he is the same person who leaked the existence of Metroid: Samus Returns for Nintendo 3DS way before its official reveal on NeoGAF in 2016 and 2017.
Unfortunately mocolostrocolos wouldn’t comment on which platform this new 2D Metroid game is heading to, but chances are high for it to come to Nintendo Switch.
