Earlier this month, a Reddit user claimed to have gained possession of a real Switch 2 unit, which Nintendo has yet to officially reveal to the public. The user reportedly showed images of this unit to several other users and major publications, who believed them to be legitimate.
After several weeks, some of these images have finally been posted for all to see. Two images depict angles of the Switch 2’s dock, which features the logo prominently, while the third shows the console being held flat by someone offscreen.
Now that these images are out in the open, many are skeptical of their legitimacy. Some have claimed that they would be easy to fake, going as far as to say that the last image in particular could be AI generated, as it includes oddities like a missing fingernail and the “+” being on the wrong side of the console.
Interestingly, a separate prominent leaker has weighed in, supposedly claiming that the logo depicted is or is close to the real Switch 2 logo, further muddying the waters.
As with all reports of this nature, we caution readers to take this all with a grain of salt. Stay tuned for more as it comes.
