A new rumor has surfaced about the next Nintendo Direct showcase.
The rumor originated from SwitchForce, who leaked the then upcoming August 2025 Indie World Showcase. In a post on social media, SwitchForce hinted that a Nintendo Direct would be coming on September 12th 2025. This will be 1 day before the 40th Anniversary of Super Mario Bros., lending some credence to the claim.
Previously, SwitchForce claimed that Nintendo would be adopting a “Three Direct strategy” for this period, where the third and final Direct would be mainly focused on First Party games, following the Partner Showcase and Indie World.
Separately, outlet VGC claims to have heard from other sources corroborating a Nintendo Direct in mid-September, although they also note that Nintendo has consistently broadcast Nintendo Directs in September since they first started the format.
As with all rumors of this nature, we caution readers to take them with a grain of salt. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
