Ahead of the Super Mario Bros. Wonder Direct, a new report has surfaced suggesting Nintendo might have another special surprise in store for Mario fans.
This rumor comes from Dealabs user billbil-kun, who reportedly has a strong track record of leaking unannounced gaming hardware. According to billbil-kun’s latest report, Nintendo is planning to release a “Mario Red Edition” Switch OLED, a variant of the OLED Switch with red Joycons and a red dock. Presumably, it will look similar to the Mario Red & Blue Switch that was released back in 2021, only without the blue.
Aside from the color however, this variant will not have any other Mario themed branding or imagery. billbil-kun’s sources claim that the console will launch sometime before October, possibly hinting that a full reveal may appear at the upcoming Direct.
As with all reports of this nature, we caution readers to take them with a grain of salt. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
