Earlier today, Inti-Creates announced a new platformer called Majogami, which will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch on October 30, 2025.
While the game is releasing digitally in the west, it will have a physical release for both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch in Japan. It’s worth noting that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game is a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive software, so it’s not a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition that comes with a path to upgrade (upgrade pack).
Anyway, the good news for physical game collectors is that we can confirm Majogami’s Nintendo Switch 2 physical release is fully on Game Card – it’s not a Game-Key Card release, meaning all the game data is stored on the Game Card.
We were able to confirm that it is a Game Card as offer sheets from Japanese distribution channels indicate that the product code for the Switch 2 version is “BEE-P-AAWZA“. As the platform code starts with “BEE”, this indicates that the game is on a 64GB Nintendo Switch 2 Game Card. Read our post on how you can differentiate the different types of Nintendo Switch 2 cartridges here.
Another sign that the game is on a Game Card is that the Nintendo Switch 2 physical release costs about 2,000 yen more than the Nintendo Switch physical release. This means that Inti-Creates is passing on the additional cost that Nintendo charges to the consumer.
At the time of writing, Majogami is the fourth Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive software that is fully on a Game Card. The majority of third-party Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive software released physically at retail so far are on Game-Key Cards.
