Rumor: Notorious Hacker Group Claims To Have Hacked Nintendo

Years ago, Nintendo was the subject of the infamous “giga-leak”, which saw many internal documents about its consoles and games spreading online.

Now, it seems history may be about to repeat itself. Crimson Collective, a hacker group known for breaking into the software company Red Hat, is now claiming to have hacked into Nintendo. This info was first reported by cybersecurity tracker Hackmanac, with Crimson Collective providing proof in the form of a screenshot that seemingly depicts folders for some of Nintendo’s internal development projects, although the legitimacy remains unknown.

At the time of this writing, there has been no official statement from Nintendo that they have been hacked, nor has there been verification from additional cybersecurity firms. As such, we caution readers to take this info with a grain of salt, as a screenshot of the above nature could be easily faked. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
