Rumor: Pokemon Generation 10 Title, Setting, New Game Mechanic, And More Leaked
In addition to the company’s slate for up to 2030, the Game Freak hackers have shared more details about the upcoming Generation 10 Pokemon games.
This new batch of info provides clarification on previous rumors for the games, including the title, setting, new gameplay gimmick mechanic, and much more. A summary of the alleged details can be viewed below:
- Titles are confirmed to be Pokemon Wind and Pokemon Wave, exclusive to the Switch 2
- Region is inspired by Southeast Asia, specifically Indonesia.
- Legendary Pokemon concepts:
- Pokemon Wind has a “Storm” Pokemon, an “Elder Guardian” that controls the winds
- Pokemon Wave has a “Wave” Pokemon, an “Elder Matriarch” that controls the seas
- The Legendary Pokemon only acknowledge trainers who care for the “Seed Pokemon”
- Seed Pokemon
- A special Pokemon that the story revolves around, somewhat similar to Cosmog from Pokemon Sun/Moon
- Its is described as a rare “baby” Pokemon that nobody has seen evolve, getting the Seed Pokemon to evolve is a key component of the story.
- It must be raised to a certain level in order to gain access to the Legendary Pokemon’s island
- The island where the Legendary Pokemon lives will be procedurally generated according to how the Seed Pokemon is raised
- The Seed Pokemon itself will have procedurally generated floral patterns when it evovles, making every player’s Seed Pokemon unique.
- This procedural generation aspect will only be in the Pokemon Wind/Wave games, in future Pokemon titles, the design will be changed to a default one.
- “Weather Moves” are the new gameplay gimmick for the game, although not much more info is known.
- The game will use a new “Pokemon X” engine, and players will be able to explore various islands as well as travel underwater.
- Most, if not all Pokemon featured in the game will be interactable in the overworld, either through riding or touching them.
- There will be 18 Challenges serving as the “Gyms” or “Titan Pokemon” of the game, and must be completed to fight the Champion.
- The game will have a non-linear structure, with players having the option to challenge the final boss without completing the main story, although it will be much more difficult.
- Procedurally generated islands can be uploaded online and explored together with other players.
